What was the first piece of chrome you ever bought for a bike simply because you wanted it......not needed it.

I think my first was a cover for my horn. Cost about $10.00

First chrome part was the Carrier Rack and Backrest/side brackets.

now if you are talking purely cosmetic chrome, it would be the Chrome Radiator cover, i believe.

On my first Honda and Suzuki and 91 Shadow all the same, backrest luggage rack and crashbars.
This bike, the floorboards donated to me are chrome with black rubber.
Everything else i ordered for this bike is black but the V&H pipes that I haven't got on yet are chrome covered with black heat shields, once they are on there will be chrome tips showing and chrome header attachment. Can't see getting any more chrome, that's not the theme.
Something really drew me to this bike, maybe low chrome content. I used to love chrome but had my fill growing up in the 60's and 70's with gobs of chrome on every car.
I want to be different!
I love chrome just not on this bike!

Same here Dave. No chrome for me. The little that I DO have on the phantom pops though. I love being able to completely wash and detail my bike in less than an hour.

i actually got a chrome luggare rack first, but i considered that a practical item, not a "just because" one.

Nothing...no, seriously. Had very little chrome to begin with, removed what I could and painted the rest black. Only thing left is the bolts, speedo bezel ring and the tips of my black V&H pipes. Bikes are for ridin', not polishin'.

Not much new chrome for me either. I did put new mufflers on to replace the old rusted ones. But I heard a cool saying watching the TV show "Pickers".
A lady said of her old bike= " Paint and chrome don't get you home".
