With Winter fast approaching here in Michigan, it's time to put up my winter 'warm room' sized specifically for motorcycles and anything else that needs fixing. Inside is a 50,000 BTU gas furnace I installed to heat the area, which is 1/4 of my garage. Takes a few hours to put up, then seal it with 6 mil plastic sheeting. The door is 4' wide for getting bikes in and out.

Ordinarily, that half of the garage is for my '84 Monte Carlo SS when Spring comes and the warm room is taken down and stored away.

This is going to sound like a daft question.
Why you need the door?:unsure:

Not daft at all. The wide door is so I can take one bike out and move another one in. Between the wife and I we have 6 bikes plated and insured.

I meant the wooden door in the frame. there is nothing other than the door :)
You lost me. At my age (74) I'm constantly confused.... lol. Are asking about the door, or what the door is attached to?

Oh, wait. I get it. The picture is before I applied the 6 mil plastic sheeting, which you can see in the 2nd pic.

I`m glad we can ride year round here!!!
I`ve been known to leave in weather in the teens, BUT I KNEW it would get warmer as the day went on ;)
OR I just had a short distance to ride to work or town,
Dennis
I`m Still re-roofing the donkey garage ;)

That work area reminds me of my "hunting lodge" as my friends on ranchero.us call it

The garage has my wife's Chevy Traverse in it with my '68 Mustang alongside as a stable mate. Carport has a Honda 50, Yamaha TTR 125, Honda CRF 230, Kawasaki KLX 250, Kawasaki KLX 400, Polaris Ranger and a Polaris Sportsman. I think there might still be a boat in there as well. In my shop currently is a '69 Mustang up on jacks and an Accura Integra. Scattered around: (to my wife's chagrin and annoyance) 3 different Ford Escorts, 89 Mustang GT convertible, 89 Honda civic, 01 Camaro, 2016 Kia, 2011 Ram and 99 F350 dually. That's today. Tomorrow things might change........

In my line of work I come by cars extremely cheap. The Chrysler is the only car Ive ever made payments on and that was just to keep the wife happy.
I'm still making payments on my RAM but the bike and the GMC are paid for. I used to flip cars/trucks/suv's, motorcycles/go karts/jet skis, four wheelers you name it. If it had a motor I sold one and loved doing it. It became like a hobby aside from work that made me money and allowed me to work on stuff which I loved.

The Chevy and two pickups were bought new and have long been paid for. Thinking about selling the two trucks and buying one new one but I hate the idea of a truck payment. If I do, I'll probably order exactly what I want as it'll be my "forever" truck. The Escorts are former race cars, soon to be sold and the Integra is a future race car. The Honda and Mustang GT were bought for next to nothing, have been repaired and are up for sale. Both will probably be gone by this time next week. The '68 Mustang is my "grocery getter" and commuter and the '69 is my most recent hotrod project. The KIA and Camaro are other peoples cars. Dirt bikes show the growth of my kids, I can't get rid of any of them. The Polaris's are hunting tools.

OK, wife is right.... I have too much crap.....

When we built our house we thought a 3.5 car garage with a drive through would be enough. We had 3 cars, an atv and a lawn tractor. Since then, we’ve added my VTX, and 2 snowmobiles, + a lot of junk.

The boring:
2010 Hyundai Santa Fe, soon to be replaced
2016 GMC Sierra, crew.
John Deere 279 lawn tractor

Fun stuff:
Honda Rancher

2008 Honda VTX 1300T

2004 Skidoo 600sdi
2005 Skidoo 500ss

And my wife’s toy, 81 Olds Cutlass Supreme. She bought it off her grandmother in 86, paint was done in 95.

And, no, it doesn't all fit. I built a 10x20 shed.

Sitting on my VTX making vroom vroom noises.

It's an '84 SS. They came in two colors, either white exterior with blue interior... or blue exterior with blue interior. Yep, it came with a console starting in 84.

I fell absolutely in love with it the minute I first set my eyes on it and knew I had to have one. 61,000 original miles and it only gets driven on nice days.
