Decided this post should stay in the member introductions category as it is the question from a newb. Only way to learn is to ask, right? What are these smalls posts and what is the lock for? Guessing saddlebags. Bonus points for anyone able to tell me what was rubbing on tire sidewall.

The item on the right is a helmet lock. Makes it possible to lock your helmet to your bike as you go to Walmart to get beer. Your ignition key should fit the lock. The item on the left I think is a bungee anchor thats bent down, and should'nt be touching the tire.

Thats my guess.
