All 4 sight glasses are utterly destroyed on the 84 and 85 Shadow 700s I just bought. I doubt they're recoverable. They're completely opaque, rough, and, yeah.. useless. So I thought to replace the reservoirs but I can't find anyone that has them.

Anyone know where to get replacements? (And how difficult of a job is it - I'm a total n00b... Heh.)

Yeah, I found quite a few that claim to fit the bike - but I was curious if anyone had used any specific part and found it worked well, etc.

(And still curious how difficult of a job it is to change em out.)

they are about the same from vlx to vt750 and 1100, but not the pre 97 1100 spirit as they were ****ed to fit level on the buckhorn bars. they are a pretty basic unit.

When I was about 19 I used to work for a window/glass company. I'm betting one would be able to fit a 1mm/2mm thick new window in each and you could keep the existing gear. We would do odd jobs like this all the time.

My windows are getting same way and it's what I'll be doing soon myself.
