I'm in the Salt Lake Valley. Still seeing temps around 40-50 F but I am still riding. Mostly out of necessity. I work 30 miles form home and use the train to get there because the company pays for it. I only go to the train and back but I don't own a car so this is all I have. I'll be doing this for as long as possible or until I have to walk to the bus.

I am so disgusted. I've been on one ride since August. We put in 8 hours on the bikes (my longest trip yet!) on Sept 16 and then the weather went bad and never came back around. 40s and raining. I'm holding out hope we'll get ONE more ride in before we have to winterize, but to be honest, I'm not sure it's gonna happen. We don't plan on living here forever, but can't head south quite yet...
Anybody else having extraordinarily crappy weather this year?

Come on down to the southern part of Wisconsin./forum/images/HondaShadow_net_2015/smilies/tango_face_wink.png

I`m getting ready to head out for a long ride right now.

Sun won`t be up for 2 more hours and it`s already 70 degrees, heading for 80 degrees later on.<img src="http://www.hondashadow.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Shocked" class="inlineimg" />
We were in the Dells two weeks ago to see Shooter Jennings, and it was cold and crappy there too!!! Outdoor show...

I'm in Southeastern WI and we are at 37 this morning. I am still holding out for one more ride this year. Last year we got to ride on a balmy day in December. A 3-4 month riding season just isn't cutting it anymore. Thinking it's time to move South. Hope you get just one more!

It's supposed to get into the 50s this coming week. I'm hoping that hangs on until the weekend! I'll wear a snow suit at this point as ling as it's not raining, snowing or windy!

I'm in Illinois and still riding. If the temps are above freezing (and sometimes below), I still ride. I avoid riding in rain but sometimes do. But, if there's any chance of ice, I do not ride. I ride for pleasure - but also ride for basic transportation. It saves a lot of gas money versus my Chevy 4wd pickup. So, there's a practical excuse - and that's the reason I give my wife. But, truth be told, I just plain like riding. Regardless, I ride year round and do not put my bike in winter storage. At most, I might hit 3 consecutive weeks of unsuitable riding conditions in the winter. But, I'm in southern Illinois and snow usually goes away after a few days.

Here in Tucson we ride year-round, except for those days during the monsoon season when the roads flood. Summers are blazing hot, so we try to get our rides in early in the morning or late in the evening. If we want a break from the heat, we ride up into the mountains to cool off.

Winters are excellent here. Overnight lows usually do not drop below 32 degrees, with daytime highs in the mid-to-high 70's. We have the occassional winter rains that may last a day or two, and rarely do we have ice on the roads. If we do, it's usually very early in the morning, before the sun comes up.

If we want to see snow, we ride up into the mountains, after the roads are plowed and the temps rise above 45 degrees. When we are tired of the snow and the cold temps, we ride down the mountain and back into the city. Usually a good 30 degree difference.

Lastly, there are many fantastic riding areas all around the state, and easy to get to in a day.

It may not be heaven, but it's pretty darn close. At least for those of us who love to ride.

Y'all take care.

Well, I got my one last ride in....finally! Got up to 51 and sunny today, so we put close to 100 miles on. Two sets of thermals, insulated overpants, insulated leather jacket, hoodie, wool socks, and winter gloves. Was doing pretty good until my hands got so stiff I could barely operate the clutch. Pulled over for a bit and stuck my hands in the motorcycle furnace for a bit. 😉 I'm not sure we're getting any more days like this, but we went out on my terms! Sept. 16 was NOT going to be my last ride of the season! It is the last time I rode before today, though. 😞
