My 96' 1100 ACE has 120/90X18 on the front which I've been told is an oddball size ? ? ? and 170/80X15 on the back. My spoke rims say D.I.D 2682, 18X3.00 on the front and 15X3.50 on the back.

I'm guessing replacement rims. Are all on these factory sizes ? Are there alternate tire sizes ? I'd like to go back with the Wide White Walls and don't care about putting the widest tire known to man on the bike.

What sizes are y'all running ?

Decent tires, IMO...dunno about your intended use....the majority of my riding is dry weather / under 50 mph.
Loafing along backroads, like cruisers were made for.

And these are the ONLY WWW's I could find in those sizes, period.

Thanks, I "heard" that Michelin is going to be making a WWW next year. I "heard" that Harley dropped Dunlop and Michelin got the contract. Can't wait that long though AND they might not offer it in the sizes I need.

Those are the stock tires sizes and rim sizes. I use Dunlop K177 F and K555 whitewall. There are not a lot of options if you want to stay with WWW.

Are those dunlops better than the 40 series that was a stock tire? The tread pattern looks a lot different.

True, not alot of whitewall choices. Shinko makes a cruiser tire (777) in white wall for the sizes we need. No experience with 'em though, maybe someone that has or had them will chime in.

I got around 12,000 miles out of my rear and up to 15,000 now on the front of mine and still have a lot of life left. I have had nothing but good stuff to say about them. They stick like glue wet or dry.

A lot of riders criticize Dunlop mainly due to the 404 series. Dunlop acknowledges the 404 series is an entry level tire, however many Harley riders decided to try them and found the tire could not take the weight. Now Dunlop specifically states "The D404 is not meant to be used on Harley-Davidson motorcycles."

I am not sure what bikes had the 404 as stock but my ACE came stock with 177 and 555. Over the 20 years I have had it I have used Michelin and Metzeler but returned to Dunlop as they handled best in the rain. The 177 and the 555 are designed and tested as a set. I am not into fast corners and I don't care as much about long tire life as much as I care about stopping and grip in the wet.

I think there is also a Dunlop CruiserMax that is ww and fits BUT it is a thin whitewall and not as nice looking as the WWW so I would go with another tire rather than a thin whitewall.

What are the brand and size you have on both bikes now. The white walls look ok.
120/90X18 on the front, 170/80X15 on the rear on the 1100. The front is wearing thin in the middle (probably over inflated) and has a cut in the side. The rear is worn flat in the center (probably under inflated). The white walls are prefect.

The 600 has 100/90-19 Front Tires and 170/80-15 Rear Tires and the brand is Shinko.
