If you are one of the nine states escaping the artic blast, count yourselves lucky. I took the day off yesterday to enjoy riding in the near 70 degree temps. Overnight, the temps dropped into the 20s, followed by freezing rain and snow.

Welcome to whatever season we are in.

I know what you mean I think it's supposed to get to us in the next couple of days. I decided to ride to work today figuring it will be a little while before my next ride. TV said 50 degrees but it's 50 miles of interstate to work. I did not count on the heavy winds and froze my ......... everything off. My fault just didn't dress warm enough as I won't need it on the way home. I think it will be well worth it as I will take the tourist route on the way home which is about 60 miles of fantastic 2 lane roads filled with race horse farms the whole way. Oh temps supposed to be in the mid 60's and sunshine!

It did happen pretty quick, but I'm in CO so it's not uncommon for us to get all 5 seasons in the same week. Yes, I said 5 seasons: Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, WTF

Last night was our first frost, my back yard thermometer says 26 degrees, with a clear sky, we usually have frost earlier than this. I like it you can put on your coat and go outside without getting wet, unusual for western Washington state.

Yep, it's here. Forty four degrees in Dallas. I didn't plan to ride anymore this week, but needed to go a close by 711. No cars available, my family left with all of them, so I jump on the bike with heavy jacket over hoodie, gloves, and helmet with face shield. Not too bad but the wind at 45 sure cuts through a pair of sweat pants.

Remembrance day was good today. It was only -7C when we started our march and -10C when we finished. The army was nice enough to issue us muskrat hats-those varmints are pretty warm. A bowl of chili and a couple wobbly pops afterwards were just the remedy. Last week has been around -21C about -30C with wind. Today was a good break.

It made it up to 16c (61F) in my part of Nova Scotia today.... Went out for one last ride, topped off the gas, added the gas stabilizer, and said "good night" till spring....

Now I'm suffering from PMS - Parked Motorcycle Syndrome....

Oh well, spring WILL come, only four months to go.... Right?

Weatherman says I had best enjoy this temperature today, because it`ll get cold over the next 24 hours...
Got plenty of firewood, so we`re ready...

70F Yesterday, higher than normal, but today's forecasted high is expected to be 44, and the predicted low is 27.
The daily temperatures are expected to get even lower in the coming days as the front passes through.

As I type, I see the current temp in Sturgis (I keep the cities I often tour to on my phone) is 0, with a predicted low of -13. Wow. It kinda makes me feel warm and toasty by comparison.

The bike is not getting put away for the winter, I never do that. This just means I'll get out more cold weather gear and layer up a bit more.

But the below-freezing nighttime temperatures are definitely going to put a dent in my motorcycle commuting, which has me riding home usually between 8 and 9 PM. I won't ride if there is a chance of ice, and 30 miles at those temperatures, mostly at interstate speeds, taxes the warmest gear I have. :-(

I rode the Vulcan in 68 degree temps yesterday and here today it is now 30 degrees outside. Little to say the bike is staying in the garage now and most likely until spring.
