I don't think it's as much about being high and mighty as much as pulling these things apart until we find a reason for the accident - so we don't find ourselves doing the same things..
The biker was in the right.. In such an accident the insurance will divvy up blame.. In this case it will likely be that the insurance company will allocate something like 1-5% blame on the biker..
That 1-5% is what ends bikers..
No good being even 100% in the right and in the hospital for it.. Best to learn what we can, discuss what could have prevented it, then hope we remember these discussions when we find ourselves in similar situations..
Like you say.. We have all had close calls.. Every-single last one of us... God knows I have and we have discussed those here too.. But I think we all learned something from those close calls.. It's not about judging to boost an ego.. More about analyzing these close calls to learn something from these unfortunate circumstances.
