As I've posted elsewhere, I bought a Spirit that came with Cobra drag pipes, and they're much too loud for me, and Cobra does not manufacture a quiet baffle for the drag pipes. Does anyone have any advice for how to make these pipes quieter? I'm not a mechanic and I don't have a garage of my own, so I'd prefer to purchase something pre-made I could easily install, but detailed instructions on modifications would be fine too.

Seriously. Have you checked the packing on the existing baffles? You may want to start with repacking them. If still too loud, check for other than OEM baffles designed to fit. Then there are lollipops.

If they are true drag pipes there will be nothing in there for a baffle or anything.
What you could do would be to measure the inside diameter of the pipe and then start doing research on baffles from different manufacturers. Most of them are held in with one or two screws through the pipe into the baffle.

Perhaps you could offer them up on craigslist for a straight trade for stock pipes from the same year and model bike. I bet there's someone out there that would be interested in them.
I used to have Cobra Drags on my 750ACE, not only were they loud but they sounded brash and tinny. I put a pair of "HP Plus" baffles in them and got a much improved tone.
With the HP's they only get loud when you lay into the throttle and the tone is more like a deep rumble, not so tinny. Plus they'll help improve low and midrange power because they produce more back-pressure.
The only downside is they're expensive......
