This might help you out.

 

i am not sure exactly how they come off..but i do know that the chrome end caps on the outside of the grips twist off,im guessing that once they are off the old grips will slide off when some persuasion..i've heard some say they had to slice them length wise to split them to get them off,but again,im not sure..i've never tried to take mine off.

 

Left grip, if not re-using, slice with a razor blade and peel off. Right grip, you should be familiar with the throttle cables/adjustments. A quick 5 minute job could turn into half a day.

 

Thin screwdriver, slide it inside, lever up a bit squirt wd40 inside, work the screwdriver round and it comes off..when you fit the new ones use proper grip glue and make sure you do it right, I have seen people try to hold their bike up by the grip and get left with a grip in their hand and the bike on the ground..

if ya dont want the old ones just razor them off

 

i just took mine off a couple of days ago to put them on a new bar and the screwdriver and wd40 worked very well, u just have to work the screwdriver around a couple of times

 

This works great and you can reuse the grips if you find a similar application.

Also, on road bikes, I have never needed to glue the grips on. Surely makes it easier to switch grips around.

Changed mine out about a month ago, used an air blower to get them off.

 

If you don't have the grip glue you can use hairspray. Spray the bar and slide it on.
