Hey folks. This is my first post on this forum. So I was wanting to know the closed/open positions on the choke lever. The original shop manual has a conflicting diagram than the original owners manual (Owners manual indicates open choke is down and vice versa). Can somebody give me the correct info so I don't ride open choke the whole time? Thank you. The bike is an 85 VT700. Just purchased this weekend.

I have a 1983 750 with the choke lever on the left control/switch assembly, and I push the lever forward to get choke. Pull it back toward the seat and it is off choke. Maybe yours is the same style.
