what bike is this for? I'm using a 205/70/15 on my sabre. If the diameter is too small it will speed up the rpm on the highway. My tire works as an overdrive to kill the buzziness. Directionality looks good, but it is not required.

Search for darkside forum and follow what others have done for your bike.

You lucky dog verdeva! I had a sweet 205/70/15 I was going to put on, but I couldn't squeeze it on. A 205/65/15 is the biggest I've been able to fit on my bike.

On the 165 size, just look for a Kuhmo. That was many of our first tire. Kuhmo 165/80/15 is a great one (I think there's only one of them, Old Dad or rrounds may be able to confirm)

I wanted that bigger tire so bad I tried using clamps while deflated to let me squeeze it past the hub. But it still rubbed on the swing arm. That was a sad day. :(

I was trying to put on a Michilin X-ice tire. I loved the tread pattern, and I found one for 75 bucks. It wasn't meant to be though.

Ohh cool I was under the impression you had to go directional for safety...im working with a 02 shadow spirit 750 i would love to fatten my stance so if I can go a bit taller wider I would love to but I really wanna go darkside to compete with the amount of commuting I do in straight lines

the 180/65/15 is kind of a recommended starter for car tires. It's the closest tire size to the original one on your bike. I think old dad runs a 165 and loves it. I'm happy to answer any questions you have ...feel free to PM.

Tim, Your post was one of the influencing motivators in deciding to go to the darkside.
In 89 got a 185/65 but it was too small diameter and the rpms sucked on the freeway. Next up my wife's vstar got a 215/70/16. Then I scrapped the 185/65 before end-of-life for the 205/70 and I'll never look back. Painter D was the member that pioneered a 205/70 on a shadow.

I corrected my post, it's a memory thing, I had#'s turned, but my tire is the 165/80/15I went and looked.
runs great in all conditions. Sorry about my memory,,but I also think txtim's #'s in post #11 this thread are turned around too.
they were totally screwed up. LOL. SORRY! I'm blaming it on a memory thing too. :D
