I got a shadow vt800 1988 yesterday and the po said the clutch was put in but not adjusted by a shop. Well I think it is because there is no pressure in the clutch hydro lines. I went to bleed it and when I opened the bleeder its shot out not alot of air in it. I took off the slave cylinder and it didnt move without me pushing in on it. So long story short I think the slave cylinder is shot it should pull in and out with ease not alot of force with your hands when I pushed in on it alot of air bubbles went to the master cyl up top. It will start and idle but wont go into gear how do I fix this I can find a rebuild kit Ill start there but if it is the clutch needing adjusted after that how do I do that thanks for any help I hear these are rarer shadows Ive never had one...also never bought a shadow that didnt need work lol cheers

Hey Turkey sandwich!!! so you got a hydrolic clutch on your shadow. There are rebuild kits for your cylinder. After rebuilding it, bleeding it will try your patience. After that is done, then you will have done all you can do. If you follow the line to the other end you should find the actuator. I don't recall ever seeing an adjustment on one, however if there is , that is where it will be. Also check the seals at both ends. If it were me I would rebuild both at the same time.
