Ignition switch wiring

Did the switch come with any sort of instructions? Does it have more than the standard Off and On positions? If you have a multimeter, you can test between the red wire on the switch (which is usually universal for power) and each of the other wires for continuity when the switch is turned on. Then you can select whichever two you want (that showed continuity) to splice to the two wires on the bike that aren’t red.

Okay, red goes to red, and you can use any two of the other wires. Seal the others with electrical tape unless you have something else you want to add a fuse and power wire to, like a USB charging port.

Affirmative! Red brings the power in from the battery/main fuse to the ignition switch, and outputs it to all four when the key is turned on. If the key had a second position, we’d have had to test more.

Of course, if you’re using the plugs, make sure those connectors line up! LOL…

I got the same aftermarket ignition switch with 5 wires, from what I've tested for the continuity only the brown wire showed continuity aside from the battery wire. While the other 3 wires have no continuity at all.
The continuity measurement would be from red (power in) to each of the other wires... If only the brown one shows a connection, that's VERY odd. Any way you can whine to the seller so they may send you another one?
