I have a 83 vt500c and I want to strip the wiring and keep what it needs to run . Are there any diagrams on how to do this. No papers on the bike so it will never be on the street. Thinking about using it to power something else

Just take off what you don't need ,leave the wires alone,tape them up. Later you may want to sell it or put something back on and it will be worth more.Wires don't add much weight if they are there.I can put a bike on the street in Virginia with out papers.
You are getting fire as in the spark plugs are firing ? Or there is a fire in the electrical system now?
