Hey I drive a 2001 Honda Shadow 750, wondering what’s the best after market exhaust to get that sounds great but won’t require too much re-tuning of the engine. Thanks

The ACE aftermarket exhaust options are slowly dwindling as the bikes age and there is little incentive for somebody to continue to produce pipes for an old bike.
I think of the major manufacturers only Cobra and MAC still produce pipes for them. Various pipes can be found still in stock at distributors if you are into hunting.
I recently put a (discontinued) set of Cobra Boulevard Classic Slash Cuts on my bike and they are pretty loud and sound OK, I actually preferred the quiet of the stock pipes, but due to engine mods a change was in order.

Generally any set of baffled aftermarket pipes will work OK without any other mods or rejetting on a 750 ACE, but a gain of 2 or 3 hp will probably accompany a jet change.
Sometimes you can come across used pipes on eBay or Craigslist.
Another option is to modify your existing pipes, at the basic level it is well documented and is relatively cheap and easy, but it is pretty much impossible to undo it if it does not give you what you want.

A YouTube search will turn up videos of the 750 ACE with aftermarket pipes that may give you an idea of the sound change, bearing in mind that a lot depends on the audio quality of the video.

Id start by drilling your baffles if I were you. You wont have to rejet or anything and itll change the sound a lot. I drilled mine while it was running and as soon as the drill punched through the sound got so much better. Also a lot of dirt and rust shot out which I assume just built up over the years and further restricted my exhaust.

I’ve had the Cobra slash cut mufflers with baffles on my 03 750 ACE since I bought it used @ 5k miles (currently has just over 80k miles) they have a nice deep mellow sound, bike ran good without a jet kit but really woke up when I eventually installed a stage 1 jet kit. I do not know if these pipes are still available

Cobra doesn't list them any more, but sitting in warehouses they are still available from many sources.
I just bought a set new for my bike a couple of weeks ago.
Definitely deeper and more noticeable than stock, but probably not something to get the neighbors armed with pitchforks as long as you don't crank the throttles wide open during sleeping hours as then they get IMO pretty loud.
