I'm iffy on strong acidic solutions for rust removal on chrome. For surface rust, I don't see a problem, as long as you use a neutralizer or alcohol flush when finished. However, if there's any pitting, you can do some serious damage to the chrome, and may cause it to start flaking off.
That said, I use N'ver Dull on my pipes, wheels, mirrors, and bars. Also good for just about any other bare metal polishing. DO NOT use it on any clear coated or painted surfaces, as it will cause pitting. Also, don't use it on chrome plated plastics.
