Wondering how many of you commute to work on your bike, how often and how many miles.

If been riding to work about 2 days a week. At the job site I'm on now it's 130 miles round trip.

I do sometimes... 200 kms round trip. Only problem is, I am on the road at 0430 hrs in the morning and the highway I take, is riddled with deer... I usually ride when I go in on nightshift. That way, it's light when I head in and the sun is rising when I head home...

I ride to work as long as the weather is fine. Even in colder weather. 32 miles round trip. Most of the time I work midnight shifts.

For 130 mile round trip It would have to be snow or ice to keep me from riding. Gas cost to much to take the truck.

^^^ That pretty much is my case too. Left the bike home today because we're having some big storms this morning. I work second shift. Naturally, it didn't rain today and would have been a very nice ride in. First time since I got the bike and got legal (about 2 weeks) that I haven't ridden to work. I really missed it. Will see how the radar looks tomorrow.

I ride to work every day I can. Temperature is not usually an object. I rode my Rebel all winter, even when the temps got into the mid 20's. If it's raining when it's time to go, I don't ride. If the forecast calls for rain, it's a toss-up. Yesterday, it called for rain, wasn't raining when i left for work, didn't rain a single drop all night. Wasted a good ride. Tonight, no rain, so i rode. It's raining now at 2am. I m hoping for clear weather at 7am on my 9.5 mile ride home. I have a rain suit if it's wet. Even waxed my visor to try and get the rain to not stick to it so much. I couldn't find my Rain-x.

I don't ride to work because I don't have a job -- thank God.

I don't have a job because I'm retired -- thank God.

I do ride every day because I've got nothing better to do -- thank God.

When I wasn't retired and did have a job I'd ride to work. No thanks to God. ;-)

Ride every chance I get, even if it might rain. If it rains while I'm at work, no biggie as it some times passes. If it's still raining when I get off work (varies from 9pm to 11pm) what can ya do. Very brief commute, just used google map to see precisely how far away it is.. 3.7km or, 2 miles lol..very brief!

I always make sure to get a proper ride in before work, feels like less of a waste of a day if I do one of my usual 50-70km rides prior, if nothing else at least a ride into town for cigs.

I ride 1.5 miles to work except for heavy rain, or below about 30 degrees. I live and work near the edge of a metropolitan area, so will often leave a little early and take a 10-30 mile ride in the countryside. I feel like my bike is cheated if I just go straight to work, it barely gets warmed up. :)

28 miles one way into Wash DC, so always an excitement with the cage critters. Have 4 X 4 P/U, so scooter always prefered.

Down to 45 deg. 5. Will not start out in rain or with a rain forcast above 50%, unless I can see it on the radar.

If it wasn't for the ride to work I wouldn't have a bike right now. As much as I've wanted a bike for a long time I just couldn't justify spending the money for something I would ride here and there. If I can ride to work 14 times per month the money I save in gas from not driving my truck pays for the bike.

That was how I convinced the wife. I was spending the money anyways, this way it goes towards a bike instead of into the gas tank of my truck.

With a 65km round trip commute I've gone from $13 and change per trip to around $3.50 per trip.

I ride to work as often as the weather allows. I have an 84 mile round-trip commute to Portland (don't really care for city driving), so when there is a significant threat of rain, I usually take the truck. With the recent monsoons we've been getting here in New England, I've only taken the bike to work 3 or 4 times in over 2 weeks... :-\
