Puke tube off air box

Where is this “puke tube” from the top of the inside air box supposed to connect to? It’s just dangling in between the cylinders below the carbs. It doesn’t puke much at all (where it’s located, I wouldn’t expect it to). I looked at the other part of the air box and I can’t find a nipple anywhere. I thought it might connect somewhere there so any puke would go in the outer part of the air box where the other little puke catcher lives and where you are supposed to periodically drain. It’s not like Honda to leave a puke tube open and possibly dripping in the V of the cylinders. This is making me feel blind and/or stupid. Help please!

They show it in the service manual but you can't tell from the photos where its coming from. I'm guessing it's supposed to be coming from the sub air cleaner, but those photos in the manual aren't helpful either. I'll look again the next time I have the tank off. I can't tell if it should be providing fresh air to the sub air cleaner or removing puke from somewhere...
