Hi Folks,

I have to admit - I now own a motorcycle and know practically nothing about engines and cycle care. A friend is trying to have the carburetor replaced on her 87 Rebel and the only service provider I know of told her they are too busy and may be able to help her in October.

Anyone have ideas about finding someone who works on bikes?

And, probably more important, anyone have suggestions for options for me to learn the what and how of doing service on my own bike?

Try to get the service manual for your ride. They usually cost an average of $60.

Thanks NYCR - found it online - free download. Now all I need to do is figure out what needs to be done, and when. . . it's all new to me!

If you need help, I would really check out Maine Cycle on washington street in Auburn. They do good work.
