OK, so Christmas is right around the corner, and I figure my wife needs some help in getting me just the right present!! SO, I'm thinking a Memphis Shades sportshield speed deam, but in what color???

I kind of like the dark on the bottom and then graduate to?????

I also know that black on the bottom blocks your view of the front wheel, but I can't think that I look at the wheel when I'm riding?

Thoughts???

Thanks!

My shield is dark on the bottom and I don't really notice it.
I wouldn't have anything but clear up top.
On my previous bikes I never had a windshield. But I'm really glad this one came with one. I got my bike almost a year 'n a half ago.

We've got the Memphis Sport on one bike and a Hell Cat on another, both dark tint at the bottom. Had completely clear shields in the past. I never notice the tint while riding but prefer the look from the front. Somehow it seems to appear more custom than the clear shields.

That's pretty much what I figured. Now I just need to confirm WHICH shield I get...?

I'm thinking this Memphis Shades sportshield speed deam "looks" like it might keep the sporty look and still help? It makes it really tough when you can see any of this stuff in person?

LOL, wish we had a thread where we had a good pic of everyone's windshield including make/model!

Thanks for the input.

I bought a Memphis Shades, and you can see in the picture that it looks clear, but it is actually Solar, which just means that it has a very slight tint all over, to me it looks a little nicer than a clear windshield, but that's just an opinion. I'm just saying that there are more choices than clear and the ones that are heavily color tinted. Mine was recommended over the phone by the person who sold it to me, I took their recommendation, and was happy I did.

Just another look at a windshield. Mine is a Memphis Fats with gradient orange at the bottom. I keep mine cut just below my sight line and it works perfect. Keeps the wind over my helmet and I can duck below the top if needed.

I use the black bottom Memphis Shade Speed Demon on my VT when it gets chilly. If you decide on that style get the lowers to reduce buffeting on the super slab.
However if you have a light bar the lowers will not fit...as I found out the hard way.

Scuba77,

Do you happen to have a good pic of the front of your bike with that shield? I'm 90% that's the one I want, but sure would like to see a pic other than their website, AND hear some feedback from someone that actually owns one!

THANKS!!

I could email some photos, however I do not have any photo accounts for linking purposes. However, J&P Cycles has bike mounted Speed Demon photos in their on line catalog.

Thanks, that pic on J & P was better than what I've been looking at... LOL, now I'm 99% sure...ok 98 1/2 % sure... :?

@ 5' 11" and normal build and a 19" Memphis Fats was too tall for my Spirit. I needed a 17". The Demon is 18". Just reminding you about the sizing issues. :) The Slipstream Spitfire on my bike was the right size and style I wanted/needed.

Make me an offer if you like and I'll send you the black tint lowers to complement your future windscreen. They are no good to me since I have a light bar. The Plexiglas portion is inexpensive, however the mounting hardware is where MS gets you.

You can mount Memphis Shades Lowers on a 1100 along with a light bar. You just have to reverse the light bar and lower mounts to get them to work together.

Just a word of caution. If you bike sits much in the sun, the tint will develope tiny cracks throughout the tint coverage. I had two Memphis windshields and they both did it. One had Blue tint on the bottom and the other had Gradiant Black tint on bottom. You cannot see these cracks on the front side but you can see them on the back side when facing the sun. They don't weaken the shield at all but they do not look very nice. If I did it all over, I would buy a fully clear sheild.

Thanks for all the replies and help! LOL, my bike is a "garage queen", don't take it to work and only pleasure ride and sadly it's not out in the weather that often :(

Thanks for the offers on the lowers, but I think I'll try to go without them.
