Does anyone know the inside scoop on Forward Controls for an ACE 1100 C2 Shadow?? Apparently, the only people who make a kit are Jardine, and it's obviously pretty pricey.. must be a hard kit to make? What's the limitation on this model Shadow!? - I don't see any cheap kits available like the other Shadow models.. what gives?

I'm half tempted to make a kit myself for my bike and any others that need it..

Any info is greatly appreciated!

There is another limitation.. it is out of production.. I seem to remember other offerings back about nine or so years ago, but I would assume many dropped their offerings because there was no longer a bike to manufacturer them for. On a personal note I bough mine with the Jardines already installed they were of good quality heavy stock and functioned for two years without any issues.

I can take Pics of the Jardine forward controls on my 95 1100C2 ACE if you think that may help you fabricate? There are really beefy I bought them for the bike back in 2000. had 11K on it at that time. Now have 60K and haveonly had to replace the foot peg orings once.

You can see a side pic of them on my gallery on this site.

Wow, those really are some beefy brackets. That picture helps a lot, greatly appreciated!!

What chrome bar is that mounted to the frame, right above the radiator? They dont look like freeway bars from the picture, but ? Maybe smaller crash bars?

My forwards are from Lightning Performance (3 1/4 inch). I did get an upgraded shifter linkage from a guy on The Sabre Group. I have had this setup since 2005 with no problems. At the time Jardines was the only other option and I couldn't afford them back then. The LP forwards consist of bolt on plates, a shifter extension and a brake extension. I just checked and Dennis Kirk has these on clearance - Part #: 499282. I honestly don't know how close the Sabre is from the ACE.

Just because it’s old doesn’t mean it won’t work ;)
