Another thread on here made me curious as to how many miles some of your rides have? Mine is an '01 and has 28,000 miles. She still have alot of life left? Got her right before winter here so I have only rode it a handful of small rides but still seems to run like a champ. Lets hear how many miles your bike has or other bikes you have had.

My 2000 Shadow ACE has 51k on her.
Still running smooth & sweet.
Just wanted to say, I LOVE that color. Wanted to do something (black and tan) like that with my '03 VLX but was unsure of what the color would look like. I Love it.

37K...bought it in '02 with 12K on it.

I haven't had the chance to put the miles on her in the past couple of years that I'd like to have

I`m at least the third owner, I bought it right after I turned it over to 40,000... She now has 61,000+
I kidded my nephew that I had put more miles on it than he did in the short time I borrowed it from him before I bought it when he shipped out to Iraq two years back...
Plenty of miles left too...
I`m going fer 1,000,000 miles...

I am curious whether air cooled engines can go these kinds of miles without a rebuild? Just wondering...

My Shadow had 50,008 miles on it when I put it away for the winter. I can only assume it hasn't changed since then.

I have run across many liquid-cooled bikes with well over 50,000 miles on them, many with over 100,000.

The most I ever saw on an air-cooled bike personally, is a bit over 41,000.

However, there are some air-cooled bike that are known for being high-milage bikes. The Yamaha Virago 750 will do well over 100,000 if properly maintained. The newer fuel-injected Harleys are breaking 50,000 without rebuilds, but I can't say how much more than that for any experience.

What it comes down to is maintenance. You could have 10,000,000 on a Model T if you didn't mind dumping the money into it to keep it on the road.

There are HDs (air cooled) that have hit the 100k mile mark...

About 2650 on the Shadow since October 2008 when I bought it. You'd think I'm lying when I say I drive it almost everyday to work, but my round trip is only 1.5 miles, lol.

Other bikes, well I had a 99 Kawi Vulcan 800 for about 2 years that I put about 2500 miles on from 1999 to 2001.

Prior to that I had an 89 CB1 (CB400F) from maybe around 1994 to 1997 that I put about 4000 on.

Before that I had an 89 Elite Scooter (yeah I got teased alot!) from 1989 up til I bought the CB1. I can't remember how may miles, but it wasn't much more than a few grand.

And of course my old 83 PA50 moped that I put maybe 500 miles on when I was about 15 or 16.

Do mini bikes even count?

'97 Spirit 1100, bought used in Dec. '07 w/ 36,000 miles, now has 50,300 miles. Currently down awaiting my installation of a stator and regulator/rectifier. Back on the road again by this weekend.

This is just plain sad, but my 1994 1100 has 7,000 miles on it! I'm the 3rd owner and the first two guys (I worked with both of them) only put 4,000 miles on it between them during the first 12+ years!
