Just curious, does storing upopened containers of oil in an unheated area present any problems? Had someone say it does but I can't think of a reason why it would.
Opinions?
Thanks

The only other thing I would say is IF :?: :?: the oil container has much air space in it then its possible that with enough extreme temperature swings it might sweat on the inside. But notice I said it MIGHT! if its a type that has the foil seal under the cap that hasn't lost its seal then its less likely to have a problem with it.Oilology said:Q. I bought some extra oil on sale, how long can I store it?
A. The actual oil doesn’t really ever-go bad but the additives can. I sent out an email to the Shell Oil Company with this question, they informed me that an unopened bottle of oil has a shelf life of five years. They went on to say that it is possible that oils that old may still be usable, but it should be tested first.
Yes, it does. It makes it hard as hell to pour when you are ready to use it! :lol:rmw said:Just curious, does storing upopened containers of oil in an unheated area present any problems?
