2001 Honda VT750CD Shadow Deluxe ACE
I picked up my new start/kill switch assembly from the dealership today. I was at the shop at work and figured id go ahead and throw on the new assembly. Unplugged the connectors in the headlight cover. I noticed that the connection from the main wiring harness was male, and the wiring from the start/kill assembly was also male (on the new assembly). I thought all the connectors coming off the main wiring harness were female, yet mine had a male. Not being able to get home, i decided to cut and switch the male end on the main wiring harness with the female that was on the old assembly. I carefully went wire by wire and plugged in the new assembly. When I turn the key to the on position, the starter turns over. So something does not match up.
Is the start/kill assesmbly supposed to have a male or female connector? The parts diagrahm shows it as male, yet the assembly I replaced was female.
