What did I just buy?

I just bought an 07 Shadow but now I'm not sure exactly what model I'm getting. (I won't get it until mid-week due to some mods they're making.) Is it a Shadow VT750C2 like the (brand new) owner's manual they gave me says, a VT750C like other 2007 stuff I see on the web, or just a Shadow 750 (I think that's just generic) like the contract, an Aero, something else? The Vin begins JH2RC50427M****** and I've been searching for a couple of hours to decipher what the RC504 is but no conclusive answers. :-(

I know it's not a DC (it's shaft drive) but would like to know what it's "name" is for getting manuals, accessories, etc. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I'm new to the lineup myself, but I believe starting with model year 2007 it's a C2 if it's a shaft drive (which I also have). The C2 has one continuous seat as opposed to 2 separate ones on the Aero, and the Aero has bigger fenders.

I have a slightly different problem. When State Farm ran my vin (first several digits are same as yours), it came back as VT750C2F. What the "F"? Does anyone know what that letter F is for?

I think the c2 is the Spirit, mine is a C2B which is the Phantom. The C2 has more chrome and a bigger narrower front tire if it is the Spirit.
Insurance companies don't seem to have the right designations, they call mine a C2C where they got that from I don't know.

You have or will have a Honda VT750CA which is a California VT750C emission bike. There's even a short thread here on the forum. http://www.hondashadow.net/forum/53-general-bike-discussion/99554-vt750ca-mods.html
So it's a VT750C equipped with the California emission controls on it. Regular maintenance parts and accessories for a VT750C should/will fit your bike. You just have extra California emission controls added because of their stricter air quality standards.

How will I tell if it's a CA or not? I assume the areos were both CA and 'other-49." I really need to look at it when I get it and also ask the dealer when I pick it up. Maybe he'll know. I'll try Honda on Monday as well with the VIN.

Thanks

I think mine must be an Aero if I remember. I looked at too many bikes. Pretty sure about two seats and fenders. I may call Honda Monday and try to get a lineup of the '07 bikes. What's the difference between the c and c2?

I don't know about the F either. Maybe Honda can explain.

Thanks

adlowe - thanks for the info, especially the side-by-side. Like I said above, I think it's an aero but I really don't remember for sure. I'll get the bike in a couple of days and verify. The old post was good reading, but most of the links had died due to old age.:-(

Smilie - I'll also post some pics then.
